For this assessment we were tasked with developing and designing our own hypothetical festival, as a group task it meant each of us contributing elements of the festival, for myself I created the poster, banners and tote bag seen below. With the stretched error pattern created by one of my fellow group members and incorporated into the entire brand identity.
The idea behind our hypothetical festival was that it would celebrate the “mistakes before the masterpieces” looking at popular designers experimentation, drafts and mistakes on the journey to finding their designs. This would hopefully encourage experimentation in our designs, give a window into the process of a designer, and give confidence to up and coming designers that it is ok to make mistakes or ‘errors’ along the way as it is all part of the ideation process.
Following the completion of this project my group and I submitted it for consideration in the AGDA student awards, to which we were then nominated for in 2019 in the Student Identity category.
